Summer Youth Program CalendarThank you for your interest in volunteering with the MDS Summer Youth Program! The MDS Summer Youth Program (SYP) is a week-long service experience designed for youth and their sponsors to put hands and feet to the gospel by serving others. We appreciate your interest in restoring hope for those who have been affected by disasters. SYP is designed primarily for high school youth age 15+ (must have completed grade nine). Groups must include one adult to every four youth, with most of the accompanying adults having construction or building trades experience.
Follow these steps to submit an SYP volunteer request:
1.) Register your youth group
Indicate your contact information and estimated group number by creating a group. You do not need to add participants at this time.
2.) Select the specific location and dates that you would like to volunteer - submit your request as soon as you are able.
This year MDS is offering an SYP project in each region of the U.S., and encourage groups to travel to the closest placement offered. Indicate your first, second, or third choice.
3.) By March 26, groups are informed of their placement opportunities
4.) Groups must confirm their placement via email or phone by April 9
5.) Confirm group placement by paying the $50 per person deposit
The Coordinator for Weekly Volunteers will offer a placement and communicate next steps including registration and deposit ($50/participant) deadlines.
You can find more detailed instructions for logging in and submitting your request here.
